4.Create Your Goals, and Then Stay Focused Until You Have Achieved Them

Quotations, Week 1 No Comments

There is a famous saying which goes:

Without Vision, The People Are Unrestrained.

In other words, if you have no goal, no vision, then you aren’t going in any particular direction at all: in fact, you are probably going nowhere.

Goal-setting is a no-brainer ingredient required for success. Setting goals doesn’t guarantee success, but not setting goals guarantees failure.

I know, I’ve been there many times.

Sometimes we think of goals as just big-picture visions – as the above saying suggests.

However, in order to gain success every day – in other words, in order to achieve what we set out to do on a daily basis, we should set micro-goals, as well as the macro goals.

And in fact, the same goes for weekly, monthly, 3 monthly, 6 monthly, annually, and so on.

If this sounds systematic, it’s meant to be. If I sound like I have this licked, I don’t. Naturally speaking, I’m a spontaneous type of person, who tends to go where enthusiasms lead him, but when I set my goals on a daily basis, I stand a much better chance of focusing on my end-game, instead of becoming distracted by the latest bright or loud thing that will want to grab my attention.

How about you? What sort of goals do you set?

How do you go about monitoring your achievement of your goals?

Are you naturally an organized person, or, as in my case, have you had to learn how to be disciplined in this area of your life?
